NEW SCHOOL

NEW SCHOOL

As of January 2019, friends of The Jared Prescott Trust have been able to finance the building of 25 schools in rural villages throughout Myanmar.

Villagers participate as much as they can, working alongside professionals from other parts of the country. The new schools are brick, with steel frames and rafters and metal roofs. They are very well constructed and are a source of great pride for villagers who are extremely grateful for the assistance they’ve received in the process. These buildings become a place where education can take place unhindered by the monsoon season. As one of the most sturdy buildings in the village, they are often even utilized as community meeting places and for other important gatherings.

Our partnerships with trustworthy local organizations & with high ranking government officials have allowed us to significantly leverage funds needed to build schools for children in great need. As a result,

We are currently able to build a new school for only $23,000.

We have committed to build 5 new schools in 2019, but we hope that with your help we can build 2 to 3 more!

Sometimes we bring small gifts for them. The children are always so surprised and thankful.

This year we brought art supplies from the U.S. Most of these kids share everything they own, so it is really neat to be able to give them something they can enjoy themselves. The dum dums were a big hit.

Listen to this song the children sang for us at the school opening ceremony! (Click play on the video below.)
